Executive Producer: Julie Jakobek
Location: Hyde Park, London

JA Films and director Paul Dugdale filmed the Rolling Stones across two blisteringly hot Saturdays in July 2013, in front of an elated crowd in London’s Hyde Park. The cinematic production weaves the band’s thrilling live performance with gorgeous shots of the English capital, documentary elements, commentary from the band members and archive footage of their 1969 Hyde Park show.

The Hyde Park concerts, played to a total of more than 100,000 people, were part of the Rolling Stones’ 50 and Counting Tour, organised to celebrate a remarkable half century rocking the world. The quality of the audio is always of paramount importance to JA Films’ productions: to complement the stunning visuals and allow for the best home experience, Sweet Summer Sun uses a 5.1 lossless DTS-HD master track.

Tickets for the shows, which were supported by the Vaccines, the Temper Trap, and Gary Clark Jr., sold out in three minutes. This film enables thousands more to experience the thrill of the Rolling Stones playing live on home soil.

Mick Jagger said: “It was a great gig…It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can’t think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones’ 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night.”
