Olé Olé Olé! tells the story of the Rolling Stones’ 2016 tour of Latin America. Both the band and JA Films wanted to create something more than the average tour film so this is a feature documentary that explores the subversive power of rock and roll. It builds to an epic finale in Havana, Cuba, at a free concert that was almost derailed by President Obama’s visit and intervention from the Pope.

This feature chronicles both the tour and the Rolling Stones connection with local people as they visit ten South American cities. To many, the Rolling Stones represent freedom of expression, the ultimate in rock and roll rebellion, which helps to explain why the Havana show is much more than an amazing concert by an iconic band: it’s a joyful celebration signalling the dawning of a new age for the Cuban people.

The film reveals how this landmark event almost didn’t happen. Director Paul Dugdale, producer Sam Bridger and JA Films capture the drama as the concert has to be rescheduled due to the first visit to Cuba by a US President in over 80 years. The Pope then expresses concern that the new date is Good Friday.

“I think it’s a bit cheeky,” remarked Keith Richards with characteristic playfulness. “He’s not my manager!”

Olé Olé Olé!, JA Films and director Paul Dugdale’s fourth film for the Rolling Stones, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 16th September 2016. It’s European premiere took place at the Rome Film Festival on 16 th October 2016. Having received worldwide critical acclaim, Olé Olé Olé! is programmed for 11 other music festivals in 2016 and beyond:
